ECoS CONTINUES TO EMPHASISE THE AWARENESS OF ELECTRICAL AND GAS SAFETY

KENINGAU, 26 SEPTEMBER - The Energy Commission of Sabah (ECoS) has taken the initiative to provide ongoing awareness regarding electrical safety and information about the performance standards of the electrical supply service through the organisation of a seminar in Keningau today.

The seminar was held at the Perkasa Hotel and was inaugurated by Christine Tiffany Charlse Lohindun, Assistant District Officer (Administration) of Keningau, involving as many as 150 community leaders and is a continuation of the programmes that have been implemented in other districts previously.

Ridwan Saham, Chief Operating Officer of ECoS said, "In line with the Sabah Energy Master Plan and Direction 2040 (SE-RAMP 2040) launched in September last year, ECoS is committed to meeting the state's energy needs by ensuring a safe, reliable, and sustainable energy supply for Sabah, and this includes ECoS's responsibility to ensure that the people of Sabah use electricity efficiently and safely."

"During the programme ECoS conducted presentations related to the efficient use of electrical energy. Also invited were speakers from Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) to explain the process of rebate payment for the Guaranteed Service Level (GSL) and electrical safety, as well as a representative from PETRONAS to present on the safety of handling domestic gas installations," said Ridwan.

ECoS will continue to bring initiatives like this to other districts as a commitment to providing a special platform for the public to interact directly with ECoS. Furthermore, programmes such as this are to introduce the role and responsibilities of ECoS in ensuring that the public is always aware of safety and the efficient use of energy.
