KOTA KINABALU, 14 April – The Energy Commission of Sabah (ECoS) carried out itsKhidmat Budi Programme by visiting the Taman Didikan Kanak-kanak Kurang Upaya,Sembulan as well as the Sabah Autism Centre (PAUS), as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.
During the programme, ECoS contributed essential daily supplies to support the centres’ operations and facilitate the children’s day-to-day activities at both institutions. ECoS Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Ir. Abdul Nasser Abdul Wahid, said that the initiative
reflects ECoS’ ongoing commitment to contributing to community wellbeing, particularly for groups requiring continuous care and support.
“ECoS not only plays a role in ensuring the safety and reliability of electricity supply in Sabah, but is also committed to giving back to the community. We hope that this contribution will provide greater comfort and assist educators in delivering learning and care more effectively,” he said during his speech at the Hari Raya celebration held together with the children and educators at the Taman Didikan Kanak-kanak Kurang Upaya, Sembulan.
Also present was ECoS Commission Member, Datuk Tpr. Alijus Haji Sipil, who attended the programme as a show of support for community and welfare initiatives. Meanwhile, the head of the Taman Didikan Kanak-kanak Kurang Upaya Sembulan, Mary Sipaji, expressed her appreciation for ECoS’ thoughtfulness, stating, “This contribution is truly meaningful in helping us create a more comfortable and conducive environment for both the children and educators here. We would also like to extend our deepest appreciation to ECoS for its support and concern towards the needs of children with disabilities, as well as efforts to raise awareness on autism. We hope more parties will come forward to support initiatives like this.”
The ECoS Khidmat Budi Programme is one of the Commission’s continuous efforts to strengthen relationships with local communities while instilling a culture of social responsibility among its workforce.
