The Solar Rakyat Sabah Programme helps homeowners generate clean electricity from solar panels installed on their rooftops. The electricity produced is primarily used to power your home, helping you reduce your monthly electricity bills. Any surplus electricity can be exported to the grid through the Net Energy Metering (NEM) mechanism.
By joining the programme, you can:

✓ Contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable Sabah
To ensure a reliable electricity supply, the maximum system capacity is:
- 5 kWac for single phase connections
- 10 kWac for three phase connections
A total quota of 20MW is available until 2028, or until the quota is fully subscribed, whichever comes first. Applications are processed on a first come, first served basis.
Step 1: Check the quota availability and estimate your savings before applying.
Step 2: Appoint a registered Electrical Contractor Class PV (Grid Connected) from the directory . Your contractor will handle the application and installation process on your behalf, from system design through to commissioning and approval.
