Sabah Oil & Gas Terminal Integrated Maintenance Postponed

KOTA KINABALU, August 2 – The temporary shutdown for scheduled maintenance at the Sabah Oil & Gas Terminal (SOGT) has been postponed to a date that will be determined later.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of ECoS, Datuk Ir. Abdul Nasser Abdul Wahid, “the postponement at SOGT was made after taking into account the current situation of the Sabah Grid and the additional time needed to complete the testing of Independent Power Producer (IPP) power generation units in Kimanis using an alternative diesel fuel, in addition to ongoing repair works at other power plants owned by Sabah Electricity and IPPs.”

He added that the decision was made after assessing the risk of power supply disruptions to the Sabah Grid based on current conditions, compared to the impact of delaying the maintenance work at SOGT.

This aims to ensure that consumers in Sabah and W.P. Labuan are not affected by power supply rationing.
