KOTA KINABALU, 25 September - The Energy Commission of Sabah (ECoS) has
launched two online applications, the ECoS Energy Information System (EEISy) and
Talk2ECoS.
EEISy is an online platform specifically designed to facilitate the registration process as
an ECoS Electrical Energy Manager (EREEM) and ECoS Energy Service Company
(EESCO) for energy efficiency-related services.
"This system not only enhances operational efficiency but also ensures the orderly
management and easy access of data for all parties involved," said Datuk Ir. Abdul
Nasser Abdul Wahid, Chief Executive Officer of ECoS, during his speech at the EEISy
and Talk2ECoS online system launch ceremony held at Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu
today.
He also explained that the information submitted by EESCO through the EEISy system
is crucial for identifying and monitoring energy usage by industries or large energy
consumers in Sabah. The same information will also assist in ECoS's subsequent
initiative, the development of the Sabah Energy Efficiency Action Plan (SEEAP), which is
one of the strategies in the Sabah Energy Roadmap and Masterplan 2040 in the near
future.
"EESCO plays a vital role in the implementation of energy audits and providing
consultancy services to commercial and industrial premises towards more efficient
electrical energy management. ECoS aims to register at least 10 EESCOs this year to
provide effective services to nearly 70 premises requiring their services in the state of
Sabah so far," he added.
Meanwhile, the launch of Talk2ECOS is an initiative introduced by ECoS to establish a
feedback management platform that includes complaints, inquiries, and suggestions. By
introducing this platform, ECoS will be able to monitor any information received for
further action, especially those that are still pending and require attention at the level of
the energy supply service licence holders in this State.
"The launch of the EEISy app and Talk2ECoS today is one of the digitisation initiatives
that can benefit many parties in line with ECoS' role to facilitate the needs of
stakeholders in particular and the community in general," he explained, adding
that this initiative is proof of ECoS's dedication towards achieving the Sabah Energy
Roadmap and Masterplan 2040 (SE-RAMP 2040) vision.
"We are committed and value every piece of information received and will take the
appropriate action for each constructive feedback and suggestion. Through this
collaboration, we are confident that both applications will become significant platforms in
creating a chain of communication and collaboration between ECoS and the
community," said Datuk Nasser.
